Join the Movement

Decide what the 2025 Legislative session achieved and what it did not, find other organizations that have similar concerns. Then,  volunteer and help them as an individual, as a member of a group from church, as part of a local organization.  

Meet with your legislators and staff in their district offices and convey your concerns frequently. 

Determine your area’s most pressing needs and issues and find others to work with on those issues-by compassionate action and persistent communication with your local governing groups (ex. school boards, commissions, water boards, police community meetings, etc.). SIGN UP for ACTION ALERTs from UUJF

Start a Contact folder for your area and interests.

Form teams with members of your congregation, interfaith partners and/or representatives of other progressive organizations.

Schedule virtual meetings with your legislators and staff in their district offices year round and before the start of each legislative session to convey your concerns and urge them to support your group’s Legislative Agenda

Respond to any targeted Action Alerts from UUJF and allies with calls, emails and/or text messages to your elected representatives urging them to support the legislation, the issue, the initiative.

Link to your elected officials in Florida.

Links to your Representative and your Senators in Congress.

Find and save the contact info of names of your local board members that interest you and your group (ex. City Commission, Water Board, Planning Commission)

Voting:

Decide how you are going to engage in the political world for the elections in 2026 and in 2028.  Discuss, find friends who want to support your issues and the people who will work toward those issues.
